Exam time!

For me, today is the first day of my exams. Out of all the papers that can be tested, today's subject is the subject that I dread second most (most is history), that is biology.

To prepare for this subject, yesterday I had a tough day trying to memorize as many things as possible from the reference book. My progress was (and always is) quite slow, needing around an hour and half to finish a considerably short topic. Bad thing that happened is that yesterday the power supply to my house was cut off TWICE IN THE SAME FUCKING DAY!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE SESCO PEOPLE AH?! Anyways, when the power went out in the afternoon at around 4 something, I felt so extremely hot because I cannot switch on the air conditioner and this cause me to feel extremely uncomfortable studying while sweating profusely. The power went out again at sometime after 9 p.m. while I was still studying. I was quite pissed off and worried as this meant that I would be unable to study with the lights gone out. Therefore, for about 10 minutes until the electricity supply came back, I had to study by using candle light. I breathed a heavy sigh of relief when the electricity came back.

After that I continued to study until after 12 a.m. when I finally went to bed, worrying a little (I never worry much about my exams) of being unable to memorize all of chapter 3 Form 5 (you'll see why being unable to do so cost me quite a few marks). When I tried to sleep (or study before I slept), I was bothered and irritated by the thick smell of smoke coming from the outside. The smell caused my throat to feel quite uncomfortable. The smoke has even caused quite a serious haze here in Sibu, and life is no better when haze, extremely hot weather and H1N1 (St. Mary school had to be closed because 3 of its students went down with the disease) happen together.

Okay, so this morning I went to school like normal, and I didn't feel tired or sleepy at all despite sleeping at such a late hour. Then the exam started directly at 7 p.m. First paper up was biology paper 2. I had difficulty in doing the structured questions, especially those related to Form 5 chapter 3 (homeostasis and plant hormones part). I even felt that the essay questions I selected were easier. 10 minutes before passing up the paper, I just simply wrote down any answer that came to my mind on the questions that I didn't know how to do initially and passed up my answer script with two blank questions and a slight feeling of relief that I was able to do the essays quite well. The next paper, paper 3 was quite easy since I spent a large portion of my time studying the topic on inheritance and also thanks to my brain and some divine intervention, I managed to do the planning experiment part quite well after getting a sudden rush of inspiration. I felt happy that the biology paper is over and I thank God that I am able to stay awake and that my mind remained clear during the biology papers.

So now with one subject down, I still have 11 more to go for this first trial exam. I am worrying for my history, as this time the entire Form 4 & 5 syllabus is being testing and I haven't studied much of it yet. Account is also a subject I'm worrying about, as this is my first time sitting for account test and I don't even know how to do questions of certain formats yet. I'd be very happy if I can get a credit for my account this time.

Finally, I hope that during this exam, I won't have to stay up late every night...
