Movie Review: District 9 & Ice Age 3

In the span of two days, I watched both District 9 and Ice Age 3. So, I'll start with District 9 first.

Don't know how many of you know this, but District 9 is actually a movie made in South Africa played by a bunch of unknown actors as well. But it's amazing that they can come together to make such a great film. The story is something about a man working for an agency that is responsible to move the aliens from well, District 9 to a new area. But the main character eventually finds himself fighting against that agency as he slowly mutates into an alien himself beacause the agency is interested in using his DNA to operate the alien's weapons. This film does show some hints of racism, shown in the way the humans discriminate the aliens. That aside, I gotta warn you, the film is filled with cursing here and there (they seem to pronounce it as fooking instead of fucking). However, my experience with this movie was sort of disturbed, as the sound quality isn't good and when the aliens speak in their language, the subtitles are Russian instead of English, making me scratch my head every time the aliens speak. That's why I give this film a 3/5 rating, but it could be higher if I knew what the aliens were speaking. That's why when you want to watch the film, make sure the alien subtitles are in fooking English!

Next up, Ice Age 3.

I'm not gonna waste my time reviewing this movie, as I know quite a lot of you have watched it. All I could say is, this movie is disappointing, and I give it a 2.5/5 rating despite the better DVD quality. If you haven't watched this film, please avoid it if you can.

That's all for my movie reviews for now, I guess. I don't think I'll be watching anymore movies for a looooong time...
