...the men in purple and gold, none other than the Los Angeles Lakers! The Lakers captured their 16th NBA championship after defeating their age-old rivals, the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the NBA Finals by a close score of 83-79 in a breathtaking game that was only decided until the final seconds (forgive me but I just don't see how football can be this exciting. Haha).
And the Finals MVP is none other than...

...the Black Mamba himself, Kobe Bryant! Despite his horrible 6 of 24 shooting, he helped in other areas and grabbed 15 boards and scored a couple of key free throws during the Lakers rally in the 4th quarter. For the series he averages 28.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Despite rooting for Boston (I'm a Kevin Garnett fan, plus I thought they had a chance after leading 3-2 in the series), I'd still like to congratulate the Lakers for their 2nd straight title and Kobe's 2nd consecutive Finals MVP award.
Now, am I smelling a three peat?
